Associations

Associations in the Institute

There are 3 Associations within the Institute. These are
1. Research Staff Association (RSA)
2. Senior Staff Association (SSA)
3. Trade Union Congress (TUC)


Research Staff Association (RSA)

It involves all Research Grade staff of CSIR-OPRI. The RSA aims to promote the interest of all fields of research in OPRI and to foster good relation among all research grade staff and also with the management of the Institute. Currently the Association has established a welfare fund for its members who become distress in one way or the other. RSA – OPRI is a member of CSIR- RSA. Mr. Emmanuel Larbi is its current Acting President with Dr. Owusu Fordjour as its Acting Secretary.

Senior Staff Association (SSA)

It involves all Technologist and Technician Grade staff of CSIR-OPRI. The SSA aims to see the overall well- being and interest of its members, to foster understanding and good relationship between the Association and other related bodies and to provide a machinery for the exchange of ideas between the Association and Management of CSIR – OPRI on matters pertaining to the Administration, Terms of Employment and progress of work within the Institute. SSA – OPRI is a member of CSIR- SSA Southern Sector as well as National SSA. Mr. Johnny Sackitey Ossom is its current President with Mr. Isaac Kofi Adjarko as its Secretary.

Trade Union Congress (TUC)

The TUC is made up of Senor and Junior Grade staff of CSIR-OPRI. The TUC aims is to help to promote suitable educational and special facilities for all members, to see the overall well- being and interest of all the members and any organisation with similar objectives, to promote workers cooperative ventures at work place, to regulate the relations and to settle dispute between employees and employers and between members and other workers and to promote legal advice and legal assistance to members within the organisation. TUC – OPRI is a member of General Agricultural Workers Union(GAWU) of TUC Ghana. Mr. Reynolds Boadi is its current Chairman with Mr. John Dadzie as its Secretary.
